5. Dove (Aphrodite)

Out of all the brands that have been listed here, Dove might be the only one with a hidden meaning behind its story. Most of you here might think that everything seems normal and there's nothing special about the use of dove in the brand.

Similar to Hera who just loves her peacock, the dove is actually a symbol of the Goddess Aphrodite who has the power of love, beauty, and desires. In the sketches of the western parts of the world on Aphrodite, she was described as flying a cart in the sky while being pulled by many beautiful doves.

When the company was about to name its soap, the siblings of Lever decided to name them Honey and Sunlight from the start. But they soon realized that the name Dove suits it well due to the inspiration of the beauty of the Aphrodite goddess.

The name and symbol remain as it is until now and Dove is seen as a modern brand for women out there who desire beauty and popularity.
