Even though Hayman Island Resort is situated on tropical Hayman island in Australia, this resort has one of the biggest swimming pools in the world. The swimming pool here is around 1.8 acres (7,284.34 square meters) and the resort also has many rooms to choose from with a direct view of the massive swimming pool.

There is a resort at Hayman Island that is located at the Great Barrier Reef since the 1940s and the hotel was built back in 1987. Hayman Island is considered a very small one with a coverage area of 400 hectares and only 4km in length and 3 km wide.

This pool was named in commemoration of the French Olympic swimmer, Alfred Nekache and its size is 1.85 acres (7,500 square meters). On top of that, the Piscine Alfred Nakache is 12.5 meters wide and has a depth of 2 meters.

Dreamworld Fun Lagoon is the biggest freshwater poll in the world with a size of 2.2 acres (8,903.08 square meters). This swimming pool is located at the Dreamworld Resort, Hotel, and Golf in Karachi, Pakistan.

Aside from its awesome swimming pool, Dreamworld also has its very own man-made beach which is believed to be the first one as such in Pakistan. Dreamworld's Fun Lagoon is big enough to occupy 8.14 million liters of water.

The MahaSamutr swimming pool is another project that was built by Crystal Lagoon which is a company that specializes in building saltwater pools wherever in the world.

The pool in MahaSamutr has a whopping size of 17.8 acres (72,034.04 square meters) and is the first project of Crystal Lagoon company in Thailand. MahaSamutr was designed by a well-known Japanese architect, Kengo Kuma and the price of the villa here is around $1.2 million to $2.5 million.

The swimming pool in Sal Alfonso del Mar holds the previous record of the world's biggest swimming pool. But this record was beaten by another project that was built by Crystal Lagoon in 2012. San Alfonso del Mar has a size of 19 acres (80,000 square meters) and can accommodate 250 million liters of water.

1. Citystars Sharm El Sheikh

In 2012, Crystal Lagoon company has built the biggest swimming pool in the world situated at the Citystars Sharm El Sheikh Pool and Spa Scene in Egypt. Many media companies have stated that the pool is 30 acres (121,406 square meters) but according to the Guinness World Records, Sharm El Sheikh is only 23.83 acres (96,437 square meters).

The Citystars Sharm El Sheikh pool also holds the record for the biggest man-made lagoon in the world. The water here is also saltwater and it comes from a well that is found in the desert where the water can be obtained naturally.
