Most Expensive City In The World 2021

Tel Aviv, Israel was listed as the most expensive city in the world to live in due to the increase in inflation rate which has caused the rise in products and services across the whole country followed by the COVID-19 pandemic. 

The capital city of Israel has climbed its rank for the past 12 months to claim its title from Paris, Hong Kong, and Zurich according to the Economic Intelligence Unit(EIU). The city which contains 4 million people have managed to become the most expensive city in the world following the increase in the shekel value compared to dollars.

Not just that but Tel Aviv is also the second most expensive city for alcohol and transportation and fifth in terms of self-care. It ranks in the top 3 in all 10 categories for the EIU main expenditures with a score index that has increased by 5 points ever since last year.

The capital city of France, Paris has managed to claim second place while the tiny island of Singapore came third. London has risen by 3 stairs in 17th place with Sydney increasing to 14th followed by Melbourne going up 2 stairs in 16th place.

Forty cities have been added to the list this year. The capital city of Scotland, Edinburgh is the city that just make it to the list standing at 27th place together with other cities with high costs of living such as Auckland and Minneapolis. Two new cities, Stuttgart and San Diego also made it into the top 50 most expensive cities in the world.
