Some of you might have heard of the term 'Mandela Effect" but do not clearly understand what it truly means. For those of you who do not know, the easiest way to explain this phenomenon will be by stating that it is a situation where many people believe that something really occurs but in reality it never happens.

Or it can also be defined as an uncommon phenomenon whereby a group of people will remember something that is different from how it really occurs. Some conspiracy theories have arisen believing that this is proof of the existence of an alternative universe whereas doctors will use it to picture how imperfect the human memory is.

It definitely sounds strange enough at first but this phenomenon is what is happening around us many times. It is given the name Mandela Effect since it is closely related to the incident that occurs to Nelson Mandela himself.

The Mandela Effect phenomenon got its name in 2013 when Nelson Mandela passed away. The strange thing about his death is that millions of people believed that he died years back in the 80s and are truly confident that he was long gone then.

They are even convinced that they have witnessed the funeral ceremony on TV. However, all the things that are claimed by the many were merely reminiscences or fake memories as this event never really happened.

This is what made the Mandela Effect very interesting as it is not an instance of such an event really occurring. Here we would like to share with you the top 5 examples that can be considered a "Mandela Effect".

1. "Luke, I Am Your Father"

"Luke, I Am Your Father" is a very popular verse that will be remembered by most Star Wars fans. In fact, those who have not watched the film at all will surely have heard of some popular terms repeatedly used in Star Wars movies.

Many believed that Darth Vader himself converse such verse, word by word. But do you know that the true words that came out of his mouth were not as people would have expected since it was "No, I am your father".

It was without a doubt that Darth Vader did mention Luke's name numerous times in multiple scenes but one of the most iconic dialogs in the history of film is not the one that is truly remembered by many. 

This is one case of the "Mandela Effect" that is truly clear and quite mindblowing.

2. The Flintstones

Which spelling is the correct one, "The Flintstones" or "The Flinstones"?. Many would have expected the correct one will be "The Flinstones" with only one "t" in that word.

This is one simple example of the Mandela Effect that has been experienced by many people. Despite the issue only involving the letter"t" being left out from the name of this cartoon show, it is still a relevant topic to picture how people remember it in the wrong way.

3. "Life is like a box of chocolates"

Another verse from a popular film, "Life is like a box of chocolates". This dialogue originally came from the Forrest Gump movie as he states, "Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get".

It might be common for us to hear it many times but some might get confused with the actual dialogue that sounds quite different from what many people are saying.

What he actually said was, "Life WAS like a box of chocolates...". Despite the difference not being that huge, this example is still relevant for the topic of the Mandela Effect where most people remember the popular dialogue in the wrong way.

4. The Assassination Of President John F. Kennedy

All Americans will remember this historic event that shook the whole world as the president of the United States gets assassinated. There is even footage that shows this tragedy happening and being viewed by millions of people around the globe.

If you were to ask the Americans how many passengers were in President John F. Kennedy's car at the time, most answers given will be 4. It is one misunderstanding with regard to the incident as there are 2 passengers sitting in front while another one was sitting beside President John F. Kennedy at the back.

But one might not realize that this is also an example of the Mandela Effect. Truly, there are 6 passengers in the vehicle while the bloodshed occurs. The vehicle being ridden by the president was a limousine which has 6 seats in total.

5. "Mirror, Mirror, On The Wall"

This dialog came from a popular Disney animation show, "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" and it was said by the Evil Queen in front of the magic mirror.

Despite all of that, the real dialog was not as people would have expected as the Evil Queen did not say the word "Mirror" twice during the scene. But instead what she really said was "Magic Mirror on the wall...". 

Perhaps you could watch again the scene of this animation to just make sure the true words that came out of the Evil Queen's mouth.
